FRAMING GUIDE

Framing can be a tricky and finding the correct frame can be even harder, but I’ve got you covered.

Below are a few links to various sites that offer framing. These range from inexpensive DIY framing options to custom professional framing. Choose the route that works best for you!

My frame style tends to be thin profile light wood or black. When matting choose bright white or warm white mats. This look is my preferred choice for my aesthetic.

DIY Glass Framing

IKEA:

HOVSTA Frame This is an inexpensive faux wood "Birch Effect" option that fits my 8x10 and 12x16 print options. The frame sizes listed by IKEA will read as follows: 12 1/4 x16 1/4 to fit an 8x10 print and 16 1/4x 20 to fit a 12x16 print. Please note, these sizes are reflective of use with the included mat. If you are not interested in using the included mat, the print size of the corresponding print ie. 16x20 print with the 16x20 frame, would not fit due to the additional border width of the print (included for matting and framing). You can cut the border off if you choose, but must be done with care.

RIBBA Frame The White Ribba is a great choice for the 16x20 print options fitted in the 19 3/4 x 19 3/4 and 19 3/4 x 27 1/2 frame options again, including the use of the provided mat.

TARGET is another great option for inexpensive frames.

WEST ELM:

Simply Framed Oversized Gallery Frame – White/Mat If you are in search of a frame option for some of my larger prints, take a look at West Elm's simply framed oversized gallery frame. This is a bit more expensive than other box store options; however, for prints 24" to 30" wide, it is a more affordable option than custom framing while still offering a custom framed look.

DICK BLICK:

Blick Emery Frame Wood Gallery If you want a real wood option these are the frames I use in most of my prints. See image below.

Nielsen Bainbridge Tribeca Frame - Matte White, UV Glass Cover. If you a nice quality frame ready made frame with uv glass. You may pay a bit more the the glass option. Dick Blick has other non uv glass options.

No Glass Framing

This type of framing is a great option if you want your piece to look more like one of my originals. If you choose this option please e-mail me, so that I can add a clear satin varnish to you piece.

The prints are all standard sizes so you can easily find a ready made frame to fit and all you have to do is remove the glass and mount the canvas print onto an archival foam board and hang.

Note: you may need to cut the white border around the print. Use an exacto knife with new blade and a ruler to trim.

Affordable Custom Framing On-Line

Framebridge  or SimplyFramed is a great option for affordable custom framing up to 32" x 40" . This is a more expensive option than choosing a stock mat and frame but, if you are not handy or would prefer a professional framer to handle the framing, this is the option for you. You can even see what your print might look like in a frame before you even order. Just screenshot the print from my website and upload into a frame.
