How To Commission A Painting
Love my work but you’re looking for certain size to fit in a specific space and you can’t find one on exhibit or on my website that’s just right? This is the perfect occasion to ask me to paint something just for you. Let’s begin.
Questions to ask yourself:
Where is this painting going to hang? Your home, your office, a client’s home, a public space?
Do you know the approximate size of the painting you need? If you’re unsure, I can help you figure out the best dimensions for your wall. (I’ve got some tricks up my sleeve!)
What paintings in my collection do you like, or are you inspired by?
What attributes of those paintings do you like? Bold brushstrokes, colors, sky, water, imagery, etc.
About the process and pricing:
Commissioning a custom work is a very personal thing and I love meeting my clients. I like to have a bit of one on one time in my studio, your home or a phone conversion before we begin so we can really feel like we are creating something together.
Once a size is chosen, I can give you an estimate on the price (I price my work by size).
Questions you may have:
How long does it take to create a painting?
Commission pieces take varying amounts of time depending on size and if there are any other clients ahead of you.
How do I pay for the painting?
You pay 50% up front to begin work and 50% when the piece is finished. You can pay by cash, check or credit card.
Do you ship?
Yes, of course!
Do you hang or install the painting?
No I don’t, but I will provide everything you need to do so. The painting will be wired and ready to hang.
